Dear friends,
We would like to invite you to our exciting and fun annual summer camp. Each year, Ket Doan Association hosts a summer camp that provide an opportunity for young adults to come together to make new friends, participate in activities that foster camaraderie and teamwork, and forge new memories. Speaking of which, this year’s camp theme will be, Mùa Hè Kỷ Niệm, the whimsical English translation would be, A Summer to Remember, yup, sounds like a movie, haha.

I implore you all to spend a weekend, August 9-11th, with us and we guarantee you will have a weekend filled with everlasting fun and joyous memories. This year’s camp will be held at the gorgeous Prince William Forest Park, located 45 minutes outside of Washington DC. The camp location has amenities such as sleeping cabins, kitchen facilities, and hot showers and the park also have a lake. Our many fun and rewarding camp activities include teamwork games, tug-of-wars, campfires, singing, dancing, group games, and eating. All food and drinks will be provided for the duration of the camp.

KD Camp Staff

Ket Doan would like to invite you to our annual picnic on Sunday May 19th from 10:00am to 5:00pm at Black Hill Park, Boyds, MD. This is an opportunity for you to have fun, make new friends and get to know Ket Doan staff as well as our activities. This is a free event for everyone and food will be provided.

Ket Doan Association is very proud to host the second “Strike 4 A Child Bowling Event” to raise funds for KD Save a Child Program. The event will take place at AMF Annandale Lanes on Sun, April 14. Family, friends, and co-workers can have fun bowling together while making a valuable contribution towards a good cause. This event will raise money through bowler participation and donations solicited prior to the event. All proceeds will go directly to KD Save a Child Program. All of our staff and board members are 100% volunteers.

Prizes:
1. Most donation (through Paypal and at the event)
2. Highest score (team and individuals – 1 male and 1 female) (total point of 2 games)
3. Best uniform
4. Best team’s name (vote among teams – no self-voting)
5. Best Spirit – Loudest/Noisiest/Most ”Annoying” team
6. FREE Raffle Ticket for each participant

Regular Registration – before March 31
Team registration: $125
Individual registration: $30

Late registration – before April 7
Team registration: $150
Individual registration: $35

No registration will be accepted at the event

Team registration is recommended. Each team is co-ed (at least 1 male and 1 female) with five bowlers.

Individual registrants will be grouped in to team randomly

Ket Doan is pleased to announce to all Vietnamese American high school seniors in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area of our first scholarship in the amount of $1,000.

The mission of Ket Doan’s Scholarship is to reward outstanding students who demonstrate high academic merit and show great passion towards community service. Furthermore, through the scholarship we would like to encourage the students to use their academic and leadership skills to positively contribute to the development of their communities.

The scholarship recipient is selected on the basis of academic merit, leadership excellence and community contribution.

Selection and award criteria:

- The scholarship candidate must attend a college, university or vocational school in the Washington, DC metropolitan area in the Fall of 2013.

- A commitment to participate in at least one of Ket Doan’s programs or events in 2013.
